The Oxford Childrens Hospital is a new hospital being built currently (see picture) to improve the services offered to children from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Northamptonshire. The new hospital will allow all specialist childrens services to come onto one site in a child-friendly environment. There will be 106 beds, with classrooms and play areas on every floor. Eighteen twin-bedded parent en-suite rooms are also included in the plans.
The hospital will cost £30 million to build, £15+ million of which has been allocated by the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust for the relocation of children's services. The additional £15 million is being raised through a fundraising programme.
Charlotte, Heather and myself work in childrens services in Oxford and feel it is really important for improving the lives of sick children and their families. We hope that you will feel able to contribute.
