At Village Water, we spend most of our waking moments thinking about water and how unfair it is that some people don't have it and a lot of our time trying to change it.
This year, with our local partners in Zambia, we are planning to repair 150 water points in schools and villages this year and as a team we want to raise the money for the very first.
Joined by our board of superstar Trustees, we're going to give up one thing we love for Lent - as if lockdown wasn't hard enough! Be it booze, food or screen time, we'll be asking our friends and family to support us and making our own donations in lieu of our regular luxuries.
What will be a challenge for us for 40 days is still nothing in comparison to what families in rural Zambia have to survive through every day. By raising £940 we can help around 300 people access safe water near their home, along with a decent toilet, somewhere to wash their hands, helping protect from COVID-19 and hygiene training.
