Story
Brain tumours have sadly afflicted my family on two occasions in the past few years, where we lost both my Gran, Angela Cowie, and Uncle, George Cowie, to the illness. Both were vibrant, fun, and extraordinary human beings in their own right, and we sadly lost both of them far too young.
In the UK-
- 33 people every day are diagnosed with a primary brain tumour; over 12,000 people a year.
- Over 5,300 people lose their lives to a brain tumour each year.
- Just 12% of adults survive for five years after diagnosis.
My pledge is to raise £300 for the Brain Tumour Charity but would love to raise so much more:
- £25 could provide essential information to someone living with a brain tumour.
- £100 could reach 75 families through the HeadSmart campaign.
- £250 funds a day of research to further understand particular brain tumour types.
