I have suffered from many forms of back pain since 1996 and have undergone many years of "putting up with it" then conservative treatments, excersice, day surgeries and many years of medication. In 2010/11 things deteriorated & I was told that my lumber spine was all showing excessive degenerated disc disease & led to a disc removal & fusion to releive pressure on my nerves to my legs. I struggled to cope with a continued life in an office & found that sitting was my enemy.
My life has now totally turned around after my first surgery and guidance from BackCare & a local Physiotherapist Neil Sleeman at http://www.platinumppt.co.uk who enrolled my on the fit4life "cardiback" programme. I no longer work in an office but run my own Wedding Car Hire business with my wife Michelle.
Sadly at the end of 2013 it was confirmed that some of the titanium that supports my spine fusion has snapped & I am to undergo another operation to remove this & add further fusion to my spine. I am better prepared this time for my surgery & have this goal to help raise money to support BackCare.
On 18 March 2014 I had surgery to repair the fusion in my spine after two of the titanium screws snapped. (it turned out the screws had been fractured since 2012). Recovery is now very much underway with good days & bad but my determination to do this for myself has not changed
