Story
The Langdale Estate has to date raised over £162,674 for Our Man At The Top.
Our Man At The Top is Nic Fish, he is part of the Grasmere and Great Langdale Upland Footpath team.
Today over 15.3 million visits are made to the Lake District per year, and the majority of these visitors use the National Park’s paths each year. This large number of visitors puts the environment under great pressure. With so many feet pounding these routes, many Lake District paths have become huge open scars, visible from miles away. Eroded paths are not only unsightly, but unpleasant to walk on and can lead to habitat loss as well as damage to the heritage, archaeological and natural history qualities of the area.
From March to November, Nic and his team work full-time on the fells, maintaining and repairing badly damaged paths. Over two decades this team has evolved into a highly skilled workforce building sustainable paths and recreating the natural landscape.
Your annual donation is vital in supporting Nic, Our Man At The Top in continuing to Fix the Fells for future generations. Please Gift Aid your donation if you are eligible.
Thank you.
