London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
After the sweltering heat in Paris and the torrential rain of Berlin we are hoping for a calm day to be able to get through this Marathon and support a hugely important cause.
Given we were slower in Berlin we decided to draft in a professional and Mr Piers Ronan has kindly agreed to be our pace setter (although rumours are that he will not be running with us and wants to be the 'solo' man). Piers was moved by the charity and has signed up as unfortunately one of the other RSBC had to pull out.
Sam, Piers and Chris are taking on the London Marathon in 2021/2022 to raise money for blind children! We believe no child in the UK should grow up to be poor or lonely just because they are blind. However 90% of those who lose their sight in youth wont work for more than six months in their lives and most will never have someone to share their life with. By donating today you can help make sure every single blind child has the self-belief and skills to fulfil the potential we know they've got.
There are 36,000 blind or vision impaired children and young people in England and Wales who need support without which they will simply get left behind.
If you lose your sight as a child, you are
• Twice as likely to get bullied
• 40% more likely to not have friend growing up
• 8 out of 10 will never find meaningful employment
• resulting in many growing up to live on the poverty line
• each day 4 kids are diagnosed with severe vision impairment
RSBC can help these children and young people to realize the potential they know they have got, RSBC family support service which is delivered by expert engagement workers who offer practical and emotional support to these children and their families can bring out the very best in them. It only costs £519.00 a year for a family to receive this support, please help me reach as many families as possible. With your support we can help these children live a life without limits.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
