This summer, like never before, we are called to be signs of hope for our world. Your action for hope can mean fewer families have to ask: how do I keep my child safe if we dont have water for hand-washing?

Story

Dear all,

On Sunday 30th August, I will be leaving Our Lady and St Philomena and Holy Name following 11 very happy years!
Some parishioners who are able, like to give Priests a gift before they move on, as a mark of gratitude, but can I please ask anyone who is contemplating giving me a gift to make a donation to CAFOD instead.

CAFOD have launched a new appeal called ‘Summer of Hope’ which is part of the disaster emergency appeal for people in poorer countries who, as we have seen on TV, are in desperate need of help especially because of this pandemic. The difficulties we face in England we know are real, but for so many families in other countries without a decent health care system or financial support, they are in an utterly hope-less situation. Colette Byrne, our local CAFOD representative in Liverpool, has set up this page on my behalf.

This summer, like never before, we are called to be signs of hope for our world. Your action for hope can mean fewer families have to ask: how do I keep my child safe if we don't have water for hand-washing?

Many thanks.
