Story

Hello All! Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Details of the challenge follow and be sure to scroll down further to see 'Our teams motivations'.

The National three peaks challenge involves hiking up the tallest mountains within each representative country all within 24 hours: Ben Nevis in Scotland (1345m); Scafell Pike in England (978m) and Snowdon in Wales (1085m).

This fast paced and physically challenging adventure
includes transfer time between the first, second and third peaks and we have a designated driver to safely transport us in a mini van. The challenge for our team takes place on the August Bank holiday, Saturday the 28th of May at 4pm and it will no doubt be one of the hardest challenges that many of us have embarked on.

We have already raised £2000, money that has been collected and used by ST Elizabeth's hospice already, hence the start up of a new page.

We need your help to raise money for our chosen charity! St Elizabeth's Hospice are a truly amazing cause and every single member of staff and volunteer give it their all to make sure the patients and their families are looked after and feel comfortable during extremely difficult times. St Elizabeth Hospice aims to improve life for people living with progressive and terminal illnesses by providing multi-disciplinary holistic specialist and dedicated palliative care services to patients, their families and carers. They provide care that respects the choices made by patients and their families so that patients are treated in their preferred place and die in their place of choice where possible.

Every penny counts and we greatly appreciate any donation. We will provide you all with updates of how our training is going so that you know we are not slacking off! Thanks again.

**Our Teams Motivation:

John Ely: I’m doing this challenge for my Dad who lost his battle to cancer almost 5 years ago. The hospice provided him respite and incredible support to my family. What a challenge to end my 20s!!

Edward Tricker: The St Elizabeth hospice provides incredible care to so many in need during the toughest times. I'm taking on this hardy challenge, alongside eight other foolhardy companions to raise funds for this amazing charity. My father, who passed away 3 years ago received indispensable care from the hospice during his battle with cancer. Any donations, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.

Dale James:  I started my commitment to fundraising and volunteering for St Elizabeth's hospice in 2007 when they had cared for my mother after she lost her three year battle with Cancer. She was always dedicated to raising money for charity so I am following in her footsteps, trying to make her proud.

Sam Clark: I’m super happy to have found a bunch of chaps to do this challenge with, I could not turn it down. Something to tick off the bucket list; it’s not the material things but the achievements in life’s journey that are looked back on as highlights. Doing activities like this whilst raising some money for the fantastic guys and girls at the St Elizabeths hospice is the ultimate win-win. Please donate what you can to help us reach our target... we will use this as motivation at 4 in the morning when the calves are burning!

Jack Milbourne: I personally haven’t had any family members go into the hospice but I know what wonderful work they do and how fantastically well they do, when the 3 people who organized this mentioned it to me, all of them having lost a parent, all of their families having received incredible support from the hospice. It was a no brainer to come along for the journey. I know many other people have witnessed the wonderful work the hospice do so any donations large or small are greatly appreciated.

Thom Mann: On the 9th January 2020, my lovely mother-in-law passed away at St Elizabeth hospice from cancer aged 55. The care and kindness she received from all the staff at the hospice was incredible, giving her the opportunity to attend our wedding only month before she died. The support the hospice has given all of our family has been amazing and I know this is something that will continue in months to come. I am so grateful to the hospice for what they did for my mother-in-law, I wanted to give as much as I can back to this amazing place, that gave us some lovely final memories with her. I know this will be a challenge, but it's a challenge I want to do for her.

Dean Lamb: I haven't personally had any direct involvement with the hospice, but from very close friends I've heard nothing but great things coming from the hospice, the, care, compassion, support is incredible, I'm taking on this challenge with the aim to help this amazing charity. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

Tom Andrews: I am excited to take on this gruelling challenge as it’s an opportunity to push myself to my limits and make amazing memories with my friends whilst doing so. This is such a fantastic way to give back to the hospice, which has cared for some of my closest friend’s loved ones.
