I'm so proud to be Chief Executive of Bowel Cancer UK, the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. In recent weeks, we've risen to the challenge of supporting people with bowel cancer with the latest information and advice about the risks of Coronavirus, about shielding, and what to do if treatment or surgery is delayed because of the pandemic.
But at the same time, our income has fallen through the floor. All our major fundraising events are cancelled or postponed and we think up to half our income could be at risk. This is very serious.
We've adapted our services fast, and made sure that our social media channels carry the latest news in these worrying times. Our online community is a source of comfort and support for so many people with bowel cancer.
It would be heartbreaking for us all if we have to close services, stop campaigning for better treatment and care, or cut our research funding - the hope for the future.
Our number one priority is to support people with bowel cancer who need us now more than ever. Please will you support Theo and me as we take on our Wild Flower Challenge?
