My Godfather, Clive Davies, sadly passed away in December of 2016 and hardly a week goes by without me thinking of him. I am running in his memory. He ran many marathons raising thousands of pounds, an achievement I hope to emulate in the future, and he ran for Macmillan who came to his support in the closing year of his life. Macmillan Cancer Support is a brilliant charity which I know I am not alone in supporting.
I feel I am wholly ill prepared to run a whole marathon for charity right now and so a 1/2 marathon or two seems like a good starting point. Everyone has their own reasons for setting a goal and it follows that although the idea was to complete a rather long run, the goal I truly set was to raise money for a cause close to home.
All I can do is kindly ask you to donate to this charity who helps those in similar situations which have become all too familiar.
