Story
Ready…Set…Race!!
We've just celebrated our 10th birthday with lots of balloons ( and an awesome sweetie cake!) but because it was in lockdown we couldn't share the fun with our friends and family :(
For our Big 60 challenge we want to sell at least 60 virtual balloons in 6 days to have a virtual balloon race next week! All funds raised will go directly to Muscular Dystrophy UK – a cause close to our hearts as we have FSH muscular dystrophy. This progressive, incurable condition is slowly making our muscles get weaker making it hard for us to walk, play and even smile.
Our virtual Balloon Race is more environmentally friendly than a real one (no plastic!) and should be great fun. You’ll be able to see how far your balloon is travelling over the week – the one that gets the furthest wins. We're asking for a suggested donation of £5 for each balloon - you choose the colour and add a message. There's even a £25 Amazon
voucher for 1st prize!
To be in the race:
1. Make a donation per balloon (minimum £5 suggested)
2. Use the message option to tell us what colour balloon(s) you'd like and the name you want on it. You can choose from red, orange, yellow, lime, emerald, turquoise, sky blue, sapphire, purple, bright pink, pale pink, white, black, gold or pearl.
3. Make sure you click yes to sharing your contact details with us - so we can tell you if you've won!
4. Visit www.balloonrace.com/OscarandSebBig60 from 12noon on Sun 23 August to see your balloon's progress
The race will run from 12:00 on Sunday 23 August and will
end at 12:00 Sunday August 30th. You can watch your balloon's progress at www.balloonrace.com/OscarandSebBig60
Please buy a balloon (or multiple balloons!) and help us raise much needed funds for MDUK.
We're taking part in the #Big60Challenge for Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK) because for more than 60 years, MDUK have been funding world-class research into potential treatments and have been there to provide vital support for families like us living with over 60 rare muscle-wasting conditions. Unfortunately, like many charities, the COVID-19 pandemic is having a big impact on MDUK's fundraising events and MDUK estimates a loss of £2.8m of income this year. It's so important that they're here to continue their work for the years to come and we hope to help by taking on the #Big60Challenge. All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
