Story

Our son Oscar Alan whittington was born on 24/08/2019 at Barnsley hospital, he was transferred to the neonatal surgical unit at Sheffield children’s hospital the next day. Oscar has a growth on his bladder that they are currently working to solve.

Both me and Hayley were put straight in accommodation next to the ward that Oscar is in so we can be with him as much as possible. This is only made possible by The sick children’s trust who have been amazing to us and many other families.

This is a completely charity run facility that wouldn’t be able to do what they without donations so as an attempt to payback what they have done for us a charity football match is been organised along with other things too to ease as much as possible as is costs £30 per night, £210 per week and £900 per months to put families up

About the charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.
