Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Clowne Half Marathon in November to raise funds for Oscar the Brave. Oscar is the son of my friend.

Oscar was born in August 2022 and at just 10 days old was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1. The funds raised will be used to support Oscar and his family to fund Oscar’s rehabilitation, improve his quality of life and support the brilliant work done by SMA charities. Such as regular physiotherapy, custom built orthotics and wheelchair.

Running a half marathon is nothing compared to the challenges Oscar has faced and overcome already and any funds raised will continue to support him to have the best quality of life possible. So please donate what you can.

The page is also to raise awareness of the condition and so if you'd like more information, here is a link to an organisation about Spinal Muscular Atrophy - https://smauk.org.uk/support-information/about-sma/symptoms-effects-5q-sma/symptoms-type1/

This page also links to my friend's own fundraising page if you'd like to also know more about their journey: https://www.treeofhope.org.uk/oscar-the-brave/

Follow his journey here: @oscar.the.brave_sma1

Thanks for donating and supporting such an important cause.
