My friend Tommy is battling the effects of a brain tumour, diagnosed following his collapse after a cricket game in the summer. Since then Tommy has undergone three successful operations and countless sessions of physio and rehab and has also received Proton Beam Laser treatment, at The Christie Hospital. When Tommy was taken ill he was only 14 years old.... 1 year older than me. 

Tommy and I are good friends and over the last few years we have loved practicing cricket and playing games together for Broadbottom Cricket Club. I was really shocked and upset when I heard Tommy had cancer. 

For my Duke of Edinburgh Award I am running 100 miles to raise money for The Christie Hospital to thank them for looking after Tommy.
