Story
Hello, my name is Orson and I’m 9. Two years ago I was diagnosed w type 1 diabetes. This is where one of my organs (my pancreas) has stopped working as it should. This means that I now have to pump insulin into my body 24/7. Even leaving the house can be tricky as we have to remember to take a lot of kit including glucose, a replacement cannula, a finger pricking device to check my blood glucose, spare insulin supplies and lots more. Given this, I can’t help but think about how those in Ukraine with Type 1 are coping at the moment. I am therefore planning on running my first ever 5k with my friend Ollie (who also has T1D) to raise money for the UN Refugee Agency UK. Please join us or sponsor us if you can. Thanks for visiting my page.
And, if you would like to, please run with us: Richmond ParkRun, 9am on Saturday 14th May. Make your own t-shirt so we know you are part of the team!
