Gruelling assault courses are not really my thing - and I have never been that keen on running, let alone mud, pondweed, monkey bars and lycra. But having watched 6000 lunatics charge around Europe's biggest assault course in the backyard, the peer pressure has become overwhelming. If you want to see how punishing it is, you can get some sadistic pleasure from the website!        I am running in the Rat Race for my son Cosmo - to recognise his amazing achievements in overcoming the challenges in life that an extra chromosome has caused him..... And if I can raise some money to fund speech therapy for other children with Down's Syndrome who are not as lucky as him, then that would make it all the more worthwhile.
