I chose to do this project as I could help two very worthy causes - The Rapunzel Foundation (Charity Number: 20205850) and the Child Growth Foundation (Charity Number: 1172807).

The Child Growth Foundation (CGF) is a leading charity focusing on the support and management of rare growth conditions affecting children and adults. My PhD research focused on studying the molecular biology of some of these rare growth conditions. On account of the COVID-19 pandemic, fundraising for CGF has been limited so I wanted to do whatever I can to help.

Please help me to fundraise for the CGF as I prepare to chop off my ponytail for charity. I will donate 14 inches of my hair directly to the Rapunzel Foundation, which works to improve the lives of those living with hair loss (alopecia). I plan to schedule the big chop to coincide with my PhD thesis defence so it will be both a figurative and literal weight off my shoulders!
