Story
Orbits IT is running the Cardiff Half Marathon on 1 October 2017 on behalf of Bliss, a charity which supports families with premature and sick babies. Bliss supported Orbits IT's Dean Bengough's god daughter, Millie, after she was born at 30 weeks weighing just 1lbs 12oz on the 31 December 2015.
Millie received 8 weeks of care from the intensive care unit at the University Hospital of Wales and the special care unit at Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend. During this difficult time Bliss provided wonderful support and guidance.
Millie is now a happy and healthy 18-month-old weighing just under 20lbs, thanks to the support of the Neonatal Unit and Bliss.
We are hoping the money we raise will help and improve future research for the care of premature babies. We also want to help Bliss continue to provide excellent guidance and advice for parents who unfortunately have to go through this in the future.
The Orbits IT team will be running with Liam Payne (Millie's Dad). This includes: Jim Lewington, Dean Bengough, Ross Bengough, Toby Pomeroy, Hollie Xerri and Nat Hardy.
