Help us raise £10,000 in 10 days in memory of over 10,000 horses who gave their lives during Operation Michael.
One hundred years ago, Europe was in the throes of WWI.
On 5 April 1918 Operation Michael, Germany's last ditch attempt to seize the Channel ports, had been halted by Allied forces, marking the beginning of the end.
Sadly, Operation Michael's failure did not save the 10,457 equines who perished over the bloody 10 day period between 1 April and 10 April 1918, as they were rushed to the front, through shell fire and mud, with supplies to keep the operation going. As supplies ran out many of these loyal animals were sacrificed to feed the starving troops, further slowing the advance and giving the Allies the upper hand.
Brooke honours all of the brave animals who fell in this tragic conflict. Every Horse Remembered marks 100 years since the end of the First World War and highlights the struggle of working animals past and present.
Help us raise £10,000 in 10 days and remember the animals who were lost by improving the lives of today's vulnerable working horses, donkeys and mules.
