At first light on Friday 6th May, Nick Brooke will leave Wisteria Cottage in and walk to Minehead on the North Somerset coast from where, he will begin a solo walk of the entire 630-mile South West Coast Path. The path ends in Poole, Dorset where Nick hopes to arrive on or around the 22nd May and from here the last leg of his
journey will bring him back to Buckhorn on 24th May (and no doubt a hero's welcome!), after covering a staggering total of 750 miles!
Walking every day and sleeping in a one-man bivvy bag is an extraordinarily tough challenge and Nick generously hopes that sponsorship of his walk can help raise much needed funds for the Buckhorn Weston Village Community Trust (BWVCT) and
specifically help us on our way to replacing our ageing and unreliable ride-on mower for the Village Green.
Buckhorn Weston's Village Green is a rare and wonderful community asset much used by children, families and people of all ages. Additionally, in collaboration with the Village Hall it is the venue for many important village events, so it is vital that our BWVCT volunteers have the essential equipment in order to maintain it as an attractive and safe place for all its many users and keeping the grass mown all through the year is the main task.
