Story

Just when you thought it was all getting a bit quiet...the “One Man and His Boss” challenge kicks off with a chance to win a brand new iPad 2!!!

So, what’s it all about? On the 1st October intrepid trekkers Colin Welby (Everest Base Camp 5,600m, Kilimanjaro 5,895m, Annapurna Base Camp 4,900m and numerous 3000m Alps 3000m peaks) and John Hughes (Kilimanjaro 5,895m, ,and numerous 3000m Alps peaks) take on….

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

The challenge is to complete the 25 mile circular challenge walk covering the Three highest Peaks in Yorkshire - Pen-y-ghent (691m), Whernside (728m), and Ingleborough (723m) in under twelve hours. Now, this is some of the boggiest terrain in the Yorkshire Dales, on unmarked paths, but Colin and John reckon they can cover the 25 miles in under the 12 hours. The question is just how much under, and that’s where you come in!

We are asking you to guess the actual times that Colin and John will achieve, and the person who gets closest time will receive a brand spanking new iPad 2, very kindly donated by Chris Heather from Brinc our NHSD Partner, and a signed Manchester United football shirt!!

All you need to do is enter your estimate for a mere £5.00 per guess. All you need to do is donate £5 or more for each guess and leave your name, phone number and a comment with your guess in hh:mm:ss format. Don't forget you can have as many guesses as you like...for example, sponsor us £20 and put four guesses in your donation comment!

If you are not happy to leave a contact number then please email pam.kinsella@cfs.coop with your guess and contact details so that we can let you know if you have won. In the event that there is a tie, names will be drawn from a hat to select a winner.

So please support us as its going to be tough, thanks!
