Story
This year, somebody very special was taken from this world too soon, my brother-in-law Jon Mummery. Despite being born with Cystic Fibrosis (and knowing the life expectancy at the time was 31), Jon lived his life to the full. He was awarded numerous BAFTAs, battled cancer and became a father. He did not let his illness define him, he constantly challenged himself, always had time for others and helped those who needed it. His kindness, generosity, braveness and positive mentality was inspirational to all of us; if I can live my life just a little like Jon did, then I will have a lot to be proud of.
So, what I have decided to do, is set myself 5 'acts of kindness' to complete this year (i.e. 2014), to help raise money for the hospital ward Jon was cared for in. I have absoloutely no idea whether these are are possible, but I do know that I am going to try my hardest to complete them and help as many people as possible.
1: put a flower on every grave in a cemetery (everyone should be remembered).
2: spend christmas with someone who would otherwise be alone (no-one should be alone)
3: give something precious to someone less fortunate (there are so many people out there less fortunate than me)
4: brighten up the day of a child/children in hospital (no idea how I am going to do this yet, but it will be spectacular)
5: cook dinner for a homeless person (their choice of meal, of course!)
Life isn't about the time you have; it's what you do with it! Please donate so that we can help make a difference.
Wish me luck! Thank you so much.
