Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Eight friends have got together to row a non stop 22 mile "Great River Race" along the Thames in a Cornish Gig because one of the crew sadly has incurable prostate cancer and we wanted to highlight just how common a cancer it is in the UK with one in eight men getting it.
That said, because one of our crew members has it then his sons are more likely to get it which makes the crew of otherwise older men more poignant with his teenage son rowing too.
None of us are rowers however we have been training every week for sometime now to hopefully enable us to compete with the more experienced teams however with our average weight of 97kg (15.2 Stone) and average age of 50 may struggle for a podium place!
We would be humbled for your support for this important cause and to help spur us on when the going gets tough (s it inevitably will).
Thank you.
