Story
Wendi, my amazing 86 year old aunt, and I are walking one million steps for M.E..
I have had M.E. since I was 28, with ups and downs. Last year was definitely a down: I was sofa-bound for much of it, and only able to walk a couple of thousand steps or less on many days. I realised my 86 year old aunt is much fitter than me, walking every day and doing masses.
So this year we are aiming for 10,000 steps a day between us - for 100 days. Some days Wendi does more, some days I do. Between us we are going to get there.
And we hope you will support us in raising money for children and young people who have M.E.. I was lucky enough to have a life before I got ill: some of the 33,000 children with M.E. in the UK get M.E. as young as 3 or 4, others in their teens. Many recover, but only after M.E. has stolen years of their lives. Others remain severely ill, living bed bound in darkened rooms, invisible to so many.
Together we can change this: I hope you will help by taking the first step: sponsoring Wendi and I as generously as you can to Stop M.E. Stealing Young Lives. Knowing that your sponsorship is going to be worth twice as much to the charity, with a generous family trust matching every pound you give. Thank you
