1,500 km – 13 Open Championship Venues – 2 Weeks
We are a group of wounded, injured & sick Armed Forces veterans whose lives have been positively impacted by the work that the On Course Foundation does to use the game of golf as a tool for recovery and rehabilitation, also creating long term employment opportunities in the golf and related industries.
COVID-19 prevented the Foundation from fulfilling its plans for their 10th Anniversary celebrations and fundraising activities in 2020. A group of beneficiaries have come together to design, plan and deliver a nationwide relay challenge starting at Royal St Georges, home of the
2021 Open Championship and finishing in St Andrews in time for the start of the 2022 Open Championship (The 150th Open) in July 2022.
Our challenge will see us walk, run, cycle, swim and canoe 1,500km across the whole of the UK mainland visiting all 14 venues to have hosted The Open, as well as an additional 51 golf courses along the route - all within a two-week period.
We have set the bar high and we are hoping to raise £150,000 to ensure that the On Course Foundation can continue to deliver its programme of events and build upon the work they have already done to positively impact the lives of more than 900 veterans and serving Armed Forces personnel.
Every single donation or share will be a massive step towards our ambitious target and your support will help motivate our team of wounded, injured and sick Armed Forces veterans to complete this challenge.
