René Magritte’s painting The Son of Man is an icon of
its moment in art history. This piece was chosen for its thought-provoking nature, challenging the ordinary in both dramatic and subtle ways. Our can structure is a playful reimagination of this iconic image, extruding the upper torso of the painting into the third dimension, and reinterpreting the form as rising from the water - which is merely background in the original.
