7 Marathons 7 Weeks · 20 April 2020 to 17 July 2020 ·

The arrival of coronavirus is placing continued pressure on our local NHS services in Leeds. Take on our challenge to support our major trauma patients and NHS staff during the challenging times ahead.

Story

I'm running a marathon every week for seven weeks (SOS) to raise money for Day One. Having cared for those who have suffered major injury it is clear that fixing the injury is only the start.

For those of you that know me - you'll know how much I hate running unless its after a hockey ball! With some unfortunate injuries over the last 2 years and a recent recovery from Covid-19 this will not be easy but I will give it my best shot for such a great cause.

Day One is a charity that provides practical and emotional support to patients and family members in the immediate aftermath of major trauma and throughout their recovery.

Day One Case workers are able to support patients with financial, legal, practical and emotional concerns during what can be a long and hard recovery from major trauma.

This is a fantastic cause and anything you are able to spare would be greatly appreciated.
