Story
As part of a commitment to better myself and try to make a positive difference, I have decided to challenge myself in a way I never thought I would and doing so in the honour of charity.
Did you know that anxiety approximately affects 8.2 million people across the UK? And did you know that less than 50% access the help & treatment that’s on offer? Anxiety is a state-of-mind that I know has affected so many people around me, including myself, and I thought it’s time I do my part to raise awareness around the issue. Who knows, I may even have some fun along the way...
So, seeing as 8.2 million in the UK alone are affected by the condition, I have decided to walk 82 miles solo and camp along the way from just outside of Reading to my Oma’s home in Weston-Super-Mare, with the goal to raise some money for charity along the way (please?).
I’m planning for the walk to take 4/5 days and I don’t think it will be easy (walking down the road to the shops was never really my forte, let alone walking such a long distance). If you can spare any change, whether that be £1 or £10, it would mean so much to me and would seriously go a long way. With my 21st Birthday just around the corner, IF you were tempted to get me anything, I’d be forever grateful if you instead donated here. All proceeds will be donated to ‘Anxiety UK’, a charity offering therapy, helplines, courses on dealing with such problems and more.
I’ll be starting on August 14th with the goal to end on August 18th.
All donations are greatly appreciated ❤️
