Story

Hi, I’m Olly, and I’m going WALKIES! Not just any WALK, either. This September I am going on a Dog’s DREAM WALK—on the Affric-Kintail Way, which runs across Scotland from Morvich on the West Coast to Drumnadrochit on Loch Ness—almost 44 MILES! Woof! I can’t wait, I can’t wait, I can’t…!

Ahem. I would like to do this WALK at least four times, but since I will be dragging
my humans along, and some parts will be wild and rough and challenging for
bipeds, we will do the WALK once over four days. Sigh. I’ve increased my
humans’ daily exercise, hoping that they’ll keep up with me, but they’re
expecting additional treats for the extra effort, so they may slow me
considerably after all.

I’m doing this WALK to raise funds to fix the Ilkeston United Reformed Church Woof—roof. Roof. (You might know it as the Green Spire Church.) My mum is a retired Reverend there, and being a loyal hound, I’m itching to do my part to contribute to this vital project. (Forty-four miles! Woof! WALKIES!)

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and (hopefully) sponsor me. You can follow my training updates on Facebook @GreenSpireIlkeston and you can also learn more details about the church Woof—roof.

Our church is a large Grade II listed building and a roof problem.
