Story
So, time for another challenge... Over the past year I've took part in a few other demanding activities, a 45 mile bike ride for The Princes Trust and a 54 mile walk for The ABF Soldiers Charity. However, my next challenge is to take part in the Brighton Marathon on the 19th April 2020. I am running with Bloodwise who are a charity that provide incredible amounts of support for everyone affected by blood cancer, patients, family and friends: whether it’s leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or another blood disorder Bloodwise are there to support.
I am running with Bloodwise and in memory of my best friend, Ewan. For many of you that are reading this you will know my story. However, for those that don't... Over 2 years ago Ewan suddenly passed away at the young age of 20 from a rare form of blood cancer called Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia. Ewan's parents lost their a son, his siblings lost their brother, many others lost an amazing friend and I lost my childhood and adulthood best friend.
Ewan was such an incredible person who touched hundreds of lives. A little over 2 years have gone since Ewan left us, but my memories of our friendship are still so strong, I find comfort in them every single day. Seeing the devastating effects that Blood Cancer has on people's lives not only inspired me to raise money for other charities but it's also led me to this point. My target may seem small in the grand scheme of things, however I feel obliged to do as much as I can and raise money for those who can't raise the money for themselves. If the money I raise helps just one person affected by Blood Cancer then that's all I can wish for.
My fundraising target is £400, but going over the goal is never discouraged! Please help me in raising my target amount! Please donate as much or as little as you can. Thank you so much.
