Story
Hi, hello, hey!
On the 16th of April 2023, I will be doing the insane task of running the Manchester Marathon! (I know, bonkers...)
Now, to do this for no reason would be downright crazy, so I have decided to run in aid of JDRF- a charity dedicated to research into a cure for Type One Diabetes as well as improving the quality of life for those already living with it. I myself am Type One Diabetic and so this charity is close to my heart and I would like to give back to one of the institutions that has helped me along the way in my journey, and I would love your help in doing so.
I was diagnosed 12 years ago at the age of 8 and since then it's not exactly been smooth sailing- but then again that's never the case when you're living with this condition. It can lead to many health complications including increased risk of heart disease, sight problems and blindness, nerve damage, circulation issues- honestly the list just goes on and on. In some extreme cases, if not supported properly or managed, diabetes can lead to an untimely death. In all instances, this is a full time job for anyone living with it. JDRF looks forward to a world without Diabetes and hopes to improve the lives of everyone living with it and even prevent the condition from happening in the first place.
So with your donations we can contribute towards vital research and trials that will eventually lead to a better world for children and adults alike, all living with this disease and eventually put a stop to Type One Diabetes.
