Story
April 2023 I am running the London Marathon for Mind Charity, in honour of Lesley Dunn, a family member who is missed and thought of every day. I hope by sharing her story we can spread awareness for mental health and suicide.
Lesley sadly lost her very brave battle with mental health struggles in 2021.
Prescription medication for a health condition came with side effects of psychosis leaving Lesley with unbearable depression and anxiety for 18 months that she so bravely fought with.
Lesley was the life of every party, the biggest smile in every room, and the kindest of souls. A devoted loving mum, wife and friend, but heaven gained her as a true Angel.
Words can’t describe how painful this kind of loss is for a family, which is why charities like Mind are so important. Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Their outlining statement is “We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.”
We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Any donation big or small to this amazing charity will make such a difference to peoples lives
I will be very proud to be running the London marathon in honour of such a wonderful lady, and raising money for such a special charity close to our hearts.
