Story

On November 25th 2022, I will be taking part in my first (and probably last) Ironman, out in Tiberias, Israel. The Ironman consists of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile cycle and 26.2-mile run all in a hard day's work.

So whilst you’re all enjoying watching England thrash USA in the FIFA World Cup that day, spare a thought for my weary body as I drag it over the Israeli finish line. Hopefully also bringing it home, albeit 3,000 miles away.

I feel incredibly honoured to be raising money for a charity (Molly Olly's) that does amazing work providing support to children suffering from life-threatening illnesses and their families in the UK. Being a teacher comes with all sorts of challenges, none more so than seeing a pupil fight a serious illness. A boy that showed courage, determination and resilience battling such a horrible disease. Completing an Ironman is a small fraction of the bravery Charles showed. The money raised will help to support children and families going through an unimaginable difficult situation and hope to make the dark days a little brighter.

#BeMoreCharles

I will be competing with two friends, Reece & Jonah. Both equally as foolish as me for entering. Hopefully I can finish somewhere around the magical 12 hour mark... but who knows!?

All support would be greatly appreciated!
