We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

I am taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd April 2022. I will be running to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer’s is a progressive condition which often results in a decline of brain function – specifically, it can affect memory, thinking skills and other mental abilities. Understandably, it can be a difficult, scary and confusing time for someone with Alzheimer’s disease. This disease not only impacts the person diagnosed, but it can also have a detrimental impact on surrounding family members. From personal experience, I know how difficult it can be to see someone you love slowly forget who you are and the many memories you have created together.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. I would like to raise awareness of this outstanding charity and the work they do in order to help create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and able to live in a community without fear or prejudice. Ultimately, I hope to raise enough money and awareness to one day find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and prevent other people having to experience the effects of this heart-breaking disease.

Thank you in advance for your support.
