Story

As a hockey club, we have taken on the Scottish Hockey Club Pledge to keep our members involved and active during lock down. We want to give back to the local community and have chosen the Ayrshire Hospice as our charity. They provide outstanding end of life care to adults across Ayrshire and Arran. The hospice not only takes care of people’s physical needs but look after their emotional, spiritual and social needs too. Family members, close friends and carers are also supported both during a person’s illness and in bereavement. It is all about making today matter for the patients and their families. We will be taking on a challenge between all of our club members. We will virtually travel from Troon to John O' Groats which is a total of 320 miles. Individually, we will walk, run and cycle and each week will add up our total miles covered and continue until we reach our destination.

RCN SC011390
Our charity cares for adults in Ayrshire and Arran with life-limiting illnesses. We help them live as actively as possible to the end of their lives, however long that may be. Hospice care is open to all. It’s free for patients but it’s not free to provide. So we need to raise over £4M each year.
