Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I wanted to do something special for my 17th birthday, and this is what I’ve signed up to – literally pushing myself out of my comfort zone! On Monday, 30th August 2021, I will fly to fifteen thousand feet high in an aircraft and will fling myself out in a freefall reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour before opening my parachute to touch down the ground safely.
Through this Skydive I’m fundraising for Alzheimer’s Research UK, which is the UK’s leading dementia research charity dedicated to making life-changing breakthroughs in diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure of Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia, affecting around six in every 10 people with dementia in the UK. At the moment dementia is incurable and available treatments are limited.
With the help of the researchers at Alzheimer’s Research UK, we are learning more about what happens in the brain during Alzheimer’s and find new ways to treat the disease. By choosing to support my skydiving, you will be helping Alzheimer’s Research UK to continue their work in the fight against this disease. Your support means so much to everyone living with dementia and millions of people who know someone affected by it. Research can make the heartbreak of dementia a thing of the past. If you are a UK tax payer then please remember to Gift Aid your donations, as the charity will be able to claim the basic rate tax back at no extra cost to you.
I really appreciate all your support and thank you for your donation.
Love,
Olivia
