31 Minutes of exercise in May · 1 May 2024 to 31 May 2024 ·

Challenge yourself to do 31 Minutes of exercise - any exercise you like - every day in May and raise money to rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

I'm taking on the 31 Minutes of exercise in May challenge because two very important people in my life have been affected by a Stroke.

In December 2019 we lost my Grandad, Barry after a sudden Stroke in the September of 2019. We never saw it coming and that's the reality for so many people. Our family was changed, a grandad was lost, a great granddad, a dad, a father-in law, a husband, but most importantly an amazing human. To Barry, we miss you every day.

Two years later in November 2021 my step-dad Matt was also affected by a stroke. His stroke was something we knew could happen but it still shook our world. Seeing his strength was awe-inspiring, and seeing his humor never waver was proof of what an amazing man he is and how much strength he has.

Matt’s whole family were affected by a Stroke again, but especially myself, my brothers, Rory and Leo, and my mum - and Matt's wife -  Kat. Matt’s speedy recovery was made possible by his willingness to fight, and by the research that goes into Strokes every day. I’m raising money in the hopes that more people get the outcome that my step-dad has had and less people have to be lost at the hands of a Stroke.
