Story
Hello wonderful people.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Just because it wasn't awful enough the first time, I have decided to run all 13.1 miles of the Reading Half Marathon again in April. The cause I am fundraising for is the Royal Berkshire Hospital 'Robbie the robot' appeal. This is a £1million appeal to help the hospital pay to keep a life saving machine ('Robbie') which has transformed prostate cancer operations at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Thanks to everybody's unbelievable generosity, I managed to raise over £500 for the charity last year (£604 inc GiftAid) and would be absolutely thrilled if we could beat that this year!
It is such a worthy charity and any support you can give would be really appreciated! Whether it be £2 or £20, everything helps and means you can feel fabulous knowing that you are a beautiful person making a difference.
If anyone is in further need of persuasion, please consider the following:
-How much would you pay to not run a half marathon in the cold?
-13.1 miles is 2,108,240.64 centimetres.
-Donating money to charity means good things happen to you.
-A sandwich in Starbucks is about £4 and doesn't even make you feel warm and special inside.
-The more money I raise the better I will feel about my social status and therefore the faster I will run.
Thanks so much for any support you can give!
Lots of love,
Liv xxxxx
P.S. PLEASE PLEASE ADD GIFT AID ONTO YOUR DONATION: It allows the charity to reclaim basic rate tax on your gift and increases your donation without you having to pay anything more!
P.P.S. Here's a bit more information about the 'Robbie' the Robot Appeal for anybody who would like to know more about it:
The robot provides the latest in state of the art robotic assisted surgery: this allows surgeons to perform radical prostate operations using all the clinical and technical capabilities of traditional open surgery, whilst enabling them to operate through the tiny incisions which characterise ‘keyhole’ surgery.
The Royal Berkshire NHS Trust acquired the da Vinci robot with a down payment from a very generous donation. To complete the purchase and own ‘Robbie’ outright we have to raise £1m over the next three years.
