Story
Hi! I'm running the Great North run in September to raise money for GOSH, if you know me you'll know running isn't my strong point so it's a bit of a challenge to complete! GOSH is an incredible place, and it has become somewhere that has touched my family this year. In March of this year my 4 year old cousin Hari was diagnosed with ALL, a type of cancer. GOSH has been with Hari from the very start and the beginning was a little bumpy for him, which meant that the normal routes to remission weren't possible for Hari. However, because he is at GOSH he was offered a place on a trial treatment called blina, something which would not be possible without Great Ormond Street. This trial treatment has got Hari to remission (yay!) and not only that, has allowed him to do things he hasn't been able to do since before diagnosis, like zooming around London on his bike!
Theres still a long road to full cure for Hari, but with GOSH and their staff he'll be there before we know it. Paediatric cancer is something which I never thought would affect my family, but it has, and any money raised will be going towards a lifeline for families in this situation.
