Story

This year I'm going to be running the London marathon for Age UK and anyone who has ever had any dealings with this charity will know what an incredible job they do.

I was inspired to run for Age UK watching the people who cared for my grandmother before she died. There are some incredible people helping elderly people across the UK and I'm hoping to raise money to support the work that they're doing. I've included some of the stats that make their work so important below:

  • There are now more people in the UK aged 60 and above than there are under 18
  • Nearly half (49%) of all people aged 75 and over live alone
  • Nearly 200,000 older people in the UK do not receive the help they need to get out of their house or flat
  • 11% have less than monthly contact
Those of you that know me will know I like running, but 26 miles in one go is probably pushing it!! Not to mention I will probably have to stop (limit) the amount I drink in coming months. So as well as helping Age UK - it would be great if you could support me in this completely mad challenge I've set my self!

Thank you so much!
