Hello my name is Olivia(Liv)and I am a liver transplantee.

I was born in 1999 and was diagnosed with Biliary Artresia a rare liver disease.

My childhood was difficult as I was often very ill and hospitalised,my education suffered and I could not enjoy the life of a happy young child.In 2008 my health deteriorated dramatically and after two failed attempts to find a match I was given the gift of a new liver and a new life.

I am blessed with this wonderful gift and am determined to live my life to the full-it is what my donor would have wanted-I owe it to him!

Since that fateful day I have committed myself to the cause of Organ donation and campaign to raise awareness of the NHS Organ Donor Register through the work of Transplant Sport U.K.

I have been selected to represent The United Kingdom & N.Ireland at the 2013 World Transplant Games in July/August at Durban South Africia where I will be swimming in the 50m.Back/Breast and Freestyle.

The funds raised will be towards my flights,accommodation,food,kit,training costs and travel to Team meetings.This will also keep up my campaigning to spread awareness of Organ Donation worldwide.The Games are intended to encourage people to sign up to the Organ Donor Register and discuss their wishes with their family.
