Trevs Trek for Mental Health

Wales coastal path walk! · 3 August 2020
Hello everyone!
My name is Oliver Treviso and my challenge starts by walking 751.5 miles along the Welsh Coastal Path from Swansea to Chester.
I will then walk 177 miles back down between the Welsh and English border. A path which is known as Offa’s Dyke Path which will take me to Chepstow where I will then be at the opposite end of the Welsh Coastal Path.
From Chepstow, I will then walk back to Swansea, once again using the Welsh Coastal Path which is an extra 118.5 miles.
This would be a total of 1,047 miles around the Welsh border.
The Instagram my brother Joseph is running for me whilst I’m doing this is called @TrevsTrek!
It is estimated that 1 in 4 people in their lifetime will experience mental health problems, and 1 in 6 people experience it every single week. There is no question that mental health services are even more pressured at a time of crisis like the Covid-19. If that applies to you, there is some brilliant advice from Mind here:
https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/coronavirus/coronavirus-and-your-wellbeing/.
Th aims of this challenge are for me to see more of my home country, physically challenge myself and raise awareness for mental health. An important reason I have decided to raise money for Mind is because close friends of mine haven't talked about their mindset when it mattered most. Well can all be prisoners of the mind and it is okay not to be okay.
After doing some research, I estimate this challenge will take 6-8 weeks to complete and it is sure to be the most physically and mentally challenging thing I have ever undertaken. Just to give you an idea of what a donation could do:
£20 could run Mind's online peer support community Elefriends for an hour, helping people connect with others and feel less alone.
£40 could help Mind's Infoline answer calls, providing someone with vital support and information about help available for them.
£100 could pay the cost of one of Mind's Infoline or Legal Line advisors for a whole day. We can help Mind maintain the advisors, ready to answer calls for support and help.
I would love it if you were able to do one of the following:
- check in on a mate or a family member
- donate to my page and help Mind continue their amazing work across England and Wales
- sharing the link onto your social media pages or your WhatsApp groups
- telling some people about my challenge
- send me messages of support to olivertrevisowalk@gmail.com or if you have my number to text me!
