Story
This October I will be challenging myself to complete the London
Marathon on behalf of Thomas’s Foundation. Any donations to keep spirits
high during the final month of training and, most importantly, to support a great
cause would be much appreciated!
Thomas’s Foundation believes every child deserves an
enriching education. As a former Thomas’s pupil who graduated this Summer,
there could not be a more fitting time to help support and give other children the opportunities they deserve to have a fulfilling academic and extra-curricular
education.
Thomas’s Foundation works with both children in our local communities and some
of the world’s poorest children in rural Nepal. In local communities, your donations
will fund the provision of bursaries to families who could not otherwise contemplate
independent education as well as give disadvantaged children access to inspiring
educational opportunities, particularly in under-funded subjects such as art,
drama, music and sport – subjects that build a child’s self-esteem and encourage
a love of learning. Your donations will also support the poorest communities in
rural Nepal (where more than a quarter of the population live on less than 75p
a day) by funding the installation of libraries and high quality teacher training to give the world’s most deprived children
access to an education. To find out more please visit: https://www.thomassfoundation.org.uk/.
With your donations:
£10 will buy 10 books for a CAIRN library, improving reading habits and
literacy.
£28 will buy sweaters for 7 children, keeping them warm in the cold mountain
villages.
£100 will pay for a year's worth of singing lessons for a child in the local community.
£250 will train a teacher in Nepal
£875 will pay for a child's music scholarship for one year.
