Story
Back in 2019 I entered the inaugural Pan Celtic cycle race, which saw me cycle 1400 miles unsupported across the Celtic nations in under 10 days. I lost about 10kgs and couldn't feel my toes properly for several weeks afterwards. However, for some strange reason I will be repeating this cycle race at the start of July, as the second edition of the race kicks off in Plymouth on July 4th. This will be followed by the London Marathon on 3rd October to celebrate my 30th birthday. A quick glance at me will show that I'm not built for either ultra-endurance cycling or long-distance running - my body condition after the Pan Celtic Race last time is testament to this.... These challenges will involve a lot of discomfort, sweat and probably tears too.
However this is not just to punish myself for all the decadence during lockdown. I'll also be aiming to raise £2000 for Farm Africa. They do the most incredible work, helping farmers in East Africa to develop sustainable, resilient businesses, to help tackle poverty in the long-term. In short, they help farmers grow more (sustainably), sell more produce and sell the produce for more. It's a cause that's very close to my heart and an donations will mean a lot.
THANK YOU!
