We are creating a world without limits to support people affected by epilepsy.

Story

In memory of Oliver, his Dad (Tom) and sister (Heather) will be running the Great Run Bristol Half Marathon in September 2017 to raise money in Oliver's name for Epilepsy Action.

It was a misdiagnosis of Oliver’s epilepsy that ultimately led to the circumstances which directly caused his death on 11th November 2016 aged just 18.  We are hoping to raise awareness and understanding of epilepsy.

Oliver was an inspiration, full of love and adored by everyone who knew him.  He suffered from E. coli meningitis as a baby which left him with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and autism, yet he never asked “why me?”  Despite the many challenges he faced in his short life, he rose to each and every one with great enthusiasm and courage, filling every room with the sound of his laughter and love.  He was an active young man who enjoyed football and athletics.  He had aspired to one day complete the Great Run Bristol Half Marathon himself.  He will not get to do this so we are completing this for him.

Epilepsy Action is a community of people committed to a better life for everyone affected by epilepsy.  They want high quality, accessible epilepsy healthcare services, so that people with epilepsy have the support they need to manage their condition.

We want wider awareness and understanding of epilepsy, so that people living with the condition are treated with fairness and respect.
