Thank you for taking the time to look at my Just Giving page and remember, donating is not only simple, fast and totally secure but you are really making a difference for my charity the Cystic Fibrosis Trust !

You will all know by now I have been training hard since January for the Great North Run on the 19th September, I have battled snow, ice, rain, wind and now the heat, it has been tough but I am still confidant of hitting my sub 1hr 45 race time.

All the pain Im putting myself through is insignificent when compared to what Cystic Fibrosis sufferers have to endure during their relatively short lives. All funds raised will go towards supporting sufferers and continuing with vital research in to this terrible deabilitating disease.

Just consider for a moment the following......

• 1. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the UK's most common life-threatening inherited diseases, affecting over 8500 people in the UK alone.
• 2. Over two million people in the UK carry the faulty gene that causes CF (which is around 1 in 25 of the population. If two carriers have a child, the baby has a 1 in 4 chance of having CF.
• 3. CF affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system which are clogged with a thick sticky mucus making it difficult to breathe and digest food.
•  4. Each week, five babies are born with Cysti Fibrosis and three young lives are lost. 
• 5. Life expectancy for half the CF population is 38 years, however, improvements in treatments mean a baby born today with CF could expect to live even longer
