Oliver and Roger take on the Vegas After-Party Bike Ride

Now 300km is no walk in the park. My dad's last charity bike ride was a nine mile jaunt around the New Forest when I was six years old. He struggled then and he'll struggle now. If there's a puncture, we're in trouble. If there's a slight headwind, we're in big trouble. This is going to be as much about cycling the distance as enduring 3 days' straight of jokes I've heard before, and some newer jokes I never wish to hear again #prayforkay
So why are we doing this?...
A very close family friend of ours passed away last year.
Elias was a 16 year old schoolboy when he was first diagnosed. He was a talented sportsman, enjoying rugby, football, tennis and golf, and despite his illness was the life and soul of every party. Elias beat his leukaemia three times and was lucky enough to have state of the art treatment at UCLH, which is a centre of excellence for haematology cancers.
In a few years’ time, research will have the answers that would have allowed Elias to beat his illness once and for all. Sadly, this is too late for this wonderful young man, but what a legacy it would be if we could fund the last bit of research that completes a vital piece of the jigsaw and makes dying of leukaemia a thing of the past.
We want to donate a substantial figure through a 3-day sponsored bike ride from Paris to London.
The money will go into a UCLH Haematology Research fund, but will be ring-fenced for this research project known as The Elias Taylor Vegas After-Party.
Thank you so much for your support. It will keep us going through the A-roads of Calais and up through to South London. There will be hilarious photos and joke updates between now and gameday. Lots of love xxx
