I will be raising money for the British Heart Foundation, a charity that holds a very special place in my heart. Seven million people in the UK live with heart and circulatory diseases, and these diseases are responsible for more than quarter of all deaths. Having lost my grandpa to a heart condition I know how valuable the work they do within communities, hospitals and labs is and how important it is they continue to get the funding they need to carry out this vital research.

So that is why as part of this challenge I will be aiming to raise £600 to help fund vital research into heart conditions and risk factors. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist.
