Story
So, ‘Retired’ from Rugby (sshh they don’t like to admit they
have lol) we wanted a new challenge.
A couple of us fancied having a go and discussed the
Leicester to Skegness cycle ride.
Before we knew it, bikes were purchased, Old Newtonians
Cycling club was born and the early stages of training has commenced and our
Team now a strong! (Ha-ha) 6.
LOROS Hospice is a local charity and every year they care
for over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and provide
free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult
patients, their family and carers.
June each year this great charity host a Sponsored cycle
from the Clock Tower of Leicester City Centre to the Clock Tower of Skegvagas.
Having all been touched in some way, with friends, family,
colleagues and players who have all received support from this charity we have
decided this is our charity for 2019.
Would be great to get the support from you all, and donations
to spur us along on our training journey and for the end accomplishment on June
1st you will see us with a sore backside but be by the seaside, and
having raised some funds to help this charity.
The Team isn’t a closed group, feel free to join us if you
fancy the challenge too!!
We will keep you posted on our journey over the next few
months and thank you for the time taken to read this and hopefully your
financial support.
Best wishes and thank you
