Story
Hello!
This page was originally set up to raise money for running Race to the Castle 100km last year, but unfortunately the event was cancelled due to storm damage to the Northumberland footpaths and coast.
Over this year, I'm going to be running an ultramarathon and least one marathon, some half marathons, and aiming to cover the last 200 miles or so of the South West Coast Path that I have left to do. I'm raising money for Cure Leukaemia.
I'll be running from Fowey to Wembury on the South West Coast Path in one day (47 miles). I’m also doing: Lulworth Cove trail half marathon (DONE!) and Milton Keynes marathon in May (DONE!); as well as runs along the rest of the coast path and other events throughout the year (as I sign up for them).
Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients who have exhausted standard treatment options would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies.
The money that gets donated to research and care charities like these has brought about life-saving treatments that have come on such a long way since my dad had Acute Myeloid Leukaemia back at the start of the 1990's. These new options and a better understanding of blood cancers means that more families have been able to see their loved ones survive a diagnosis.
Anything you can contribute will be so well received.
Thank you, thank you, thank you
